UNILAG Opens Hostel Accommodation Application for 300L Students: Key Dates and Guidelines
The University of Lagos has officially commenced the application process for hostel accommodation for 300-level students who will be having their practicals and examinations in the 2024/2025 academic session. The application portal opened today, Sunday, February 9, 2025, and will close on Wednesday, February 12, 2025.
Balloting Details
The balloting exercise is scheduled for Thursday, February 13, 2025, and will follow a random allocation system, instead of the usual balloting system, to ensure fairness among all eligible applicants.
Students who do not secure bed space through balloting are permitted to squat with friends in any hostel of their choice

Eligibility & Important Information
Only 300-level students with scheduled practicals and exams from Monday, February 17, to Friday, March 7, 2025, are eligible to apply.
Accommodation details for 400/500-level, 200-level, and 100-level students will be announced later by the Dean of Student Affairs.
Students with carryovers in 300-level are to report report to the DSA office for accommodation arrangements.
Eligible students are advised to log into their student portal and apply as early as possible so they can secure their bedspaces.
The Dean of Student Affairs, Dr Musa Obalola warned that students in certain hostels are not allowed to apply for the accommodation exercise.
“Students in El-Kanemi hall, Gbajabiamila, Women Society and other hostels in this category around campus are not eligible to participate in the balloting. Be informed that we have the list of students living in these hostels and any student who violates this will be made to face the Students’ Disciplinary Board for social misconduct” He said.
How to Apply
Firstly, it is advised to have paid the Lagmobile fee (refer to our previous article)
- Open your student portal and navigate to accommodations.
- Click on the accommodation icon.
- Follow the steps.
- Click on the drop down and choose any hostel of your choice.
- You will get a confirmation message after. Kindly note that this is not a confirmation that you have gotten a bedspace. It is to confirm that you have successfully applied for.
